My son is now in San Diego as an academic in my field, urbanism, while my daughter is getting her Phd at the University of Michigan. Twelve years ago, my lovely bride and I were deciding where to live next and selected DC since it is so walkable and urbane now. The move was also to start the academic phase of life (Brookings Institution and George Washington University). I get up to Philadelphia to visit my partners at the real estate development company which I maintain a limited role. Between my wife and I we have five children and all are now happily married...plus we are up to four grandkids. See you in September (sounds like the title of a great song).
