I'm deeply saddened to hear  my first friend in first grade is no longer here.  We spent many happy hours together.  We were Brownies together, and I still remember a poem she learned way back when!

My sister, who graduated with Joel,  and I, met him, his brother and their wonderful family when we lived at Parklane East Apartments.  I will always remember his beautiful lettering. ( I tried to duplicate ) And his lovely Nanny that tailored my Mom's clothing. It is so sad to see he has gone. What a superb person he was. Much love to his family.

Fred Wickis - August 7th, 2013
John was one of the smartest guys I ever met particularly in math. We lost touch after high school, but I'd "bump" into him once in a great while as we lived near one another. I only saw him one time later in life after his military service I believe. He was in the hospital as he had been ill and I called on hospitals during my career with a pharmaceutical company. I remember him for being a good friend in high school and helping save my "rear end" in math numerous times. I always thought he would become one of the great mathmatical wizards of my lifetime.

Louise (Quinn) Harris - August 9th, 2013
Barbara Bergman was in my "Section" in 9th grade at Beverly Hills, Jr. High.  She and I were both on the Cheerleading Squad together and I remember that one of the cheerleaders had to wear the "Mascot" costume during the football games.  The BHJHS mascot was the "Buckskin" and the costume was about 20 pounds of suede and fringe (I  think there was even an old coon-skin hat involved, too) And of course, who ended up having to wear that heavy old costume, but probably the prettiest cheerleader of all, poor Barbara Bergman.  And she wore it well!  You were a good sport, Barbara Bergman.  Loved ya!

Debbie Castellente was a good friend and sometimes my "partner in crime".  She was always ready for a good laugh and a good time.  And, as I recall, could write a terrific poem.  Deb was a great girl and will be sorely missed.
